Name: Red Mangrove

Scientific: Rhizophora mangle

A.K.A.: American Mangrove, Mangrove, Mangle

This Variation: 4 of 5. This is a Low Poly model. A High Poly version is also available.

Notes: Probably the best known mangrove tree, this plant is characterised by its stilt roots giving it the well-known mangrove appearance. Its seeds fully develop on the plant before dropping and surviving up to a year in salt-water, hence it's ability to colonise new territories. Found in estuarine ecosystems throughout the tropics. Widespread throughout the Americas, Caribbean, Africa, Oceania, Australia, and other places. This plant thrives on coastlines in brackish water and in swampy salt-marshes in tropical and sub-tropical climates.

  1. Standard -- 20,218 polygons, 33,379 vertices, 16.76m tall. Fully mature and in good health. Useable in most scenes.
  2. Thriving -- 21,918 polygons, 36,888 vertices, 16.76m tall. Peak health.
  3. Distressed -- 8,710 polygons, 15,111 vertices, 16.76m tall. Declining health with some diseased and broken foliage.
  4. Unhealthy -- 3,618 polygons, 6,582 vertices, 16.76m tall. Poor state with considerable foliage missing or diseased.
  5. Dying -- 2,663 polygons, 4,724 vertices, 16.76m tall. Just hanging onto life and showing only unhealthy and diseased foliage.
  6. Dead -- 2,029 polygons, 3,436 vertices, 16.58m tall. Showing only bare and broken branches and dead foliage.
  7. Ancient -- 20,653 polygons, 33,825 vertices, 18.65m tall. Very old plant, larger and considerably gnarled.
  8. Young -- 15,779 polygons, 26,100 vertices, 13.05m tall. Smaller plant, fully mature but still growing.
  9. Growing -- 10,516 polygons, 17,996 vertices, 8.34m tall. Plant not yet mature, some half way through its growing cycle.
  10. Immature -- 961 polygons, 2,380 vertices, 3.78m tall. Very small and young plant.
  11. Forming -- 228 polygons, 547 vertices, 1.56m tall. Extremely young and small but taking on its adult shape.
  12. Sapling -- 131 polygons, 307 vertices, 78.43cm tall. Recently sprouted.
