Description

Name: Psaronius Tree Fern LowPoly

Scientific: Psaronius simplex

This Variation: 1 of 4. This is a Low Poly model. A High Poly version is also available.

Notes: An extinct genus marattialean tree fern which grew to 10m in height. Fossils are found from the Carboniferous through the Permian. An unusual feature is that Psaronius did not have a true trunk, but had a massive root mantle formed by hundreds of rootlets. These rootlets are referred to as adventitious because they are appearing in an atypical location. These adventitious roots originate in a central stem high in the tree. This central stem becomes smaller lower in the tree so that at the base the mantle is composed entirely of roots.

Included in this Package: 12 models in total

  1. Standard -- 3,455 polygons, 5,595 vertices -- 9.48m tall. Green, fully mature and in good health. Useable in most scenes.
  2. Thriving -- 3,432 polygons, 5,559 vertices -- 9.48m tall. Peak health.
  3. Unhealthy -- 3,594 polygons, 5,730 vertices -- 9.41m tall. Relatively poor state with foliage missing or diseased.
  4. Dying -- 3,611 polygons, 5,633 vertices -- 9.41m tall. Just hanging onto life and showing only unhealthy and diseased foliage.
  5. Dead -- 3,094 polygons, 4,569 vertices -- 8.48m tall. Showing only bare and broken branches and dead foliage.
  6. Uprooted -- 18,329 polygons, 20,918 vertices -- 2.38m tall. Dead plant fallen onto its side.
  7. Ancient -- 4,405 polygons, 6,569 vertices -- 10.22m tall. Very old plant, larger and considerably gnarled.
  8. Young -- 2,969 polygons, 5,018 vertices -- 4.81m tall. Smaller plant, some half way through its maturing cycle.
  9. Immature -- 4,730 polygons, 5,541 vertices -- 2.14m tall. Very small and young plant.
  10. Fiddleheads -- 3,688 polygons, 3,804 vertices -- 58.33cm tall. Recently sprouted, may not have any leaves.
  11. Lower Poly -- 1,486 polygons, 2,967 vertices -- 9.48m tall. Fewer polys to save system resources. For mid or distant renders. Standard model included, remainder models upon request (no charge).
  12. Higher Poly -- 8,029 polygons, 10,805 vertices -- 9.48m tall. More polys for greater detail. For close-up renders. Standard model included, remainder models upon request (no charge).

Re-meshing and any reasonable modification available upon request. No charge to existing customers of the product.

The textures included are mainly 4k (4096x4096); additional texture sizes of medium 2k, small 1k, and tiny <1k textures can also be downloaded. Separated alpha maps can be download as well.

EVERYPlant has a mission ... which is to model every plant species in the world (plus some extinct, fantasy and sci-fi variations as well)! Okay, maybe not every plant! If you don't see it in our store, please get in contact; we have thousands of species on file awaiting upload.
