EVERYPlant Glossopteris 1 --20 Models-- 3D model

Description

Name: Glossopteris

Scientific: Glossopteris communis

This Variation: 1 of 4. This is a High Poly model. A Low Poly version is also available.

Notes: Glossopteris were the dominant trees of the middle to high-latitude lowland vegetation across the supercontinent Gondwana during the Permian Period. Glossopteris fossils were critical in recognizing former connections between the various fragments of Gondwana: South America, Africa, India, Australia, New Zealand, and Antarctica. They arose in the Southern Hemisphere around the beginning of the Permian Period (298.9 million years ago), but became extinct during the end-Permian mass extinction. These trees are assumed to have been deciduous, as fossil leaves are commonly found as dense accumulations representing autumnal leaf banks.

Included in this Package: 20 models in total

  1. Standard -- 280,520 polygons, 470,638 vertices -- 26.89m tall. Green, fully mature and in good health. Useable in most scenes.
  2. Early Spring -- 162,660 polygons, 207,480 vertices -- 26.78m tall. Seasonal, immature leaves have just begun to grow.
  3. Autumn -- 280,454 polygons, 468,696 vertices -- 27.08m tall. Leaves have changed colour and some fallen.
  4. Falling Leaves -- 281,597 polygons, 471,350 vertices -- 27.08m tall. Autumn leaves in the process of falling from the tree.
  5. Winter -- 151,286 polygons, 177,564 vertices -- 26.78m tall. Barren branches.
  6. Thriving -- 317,603 polygons, 536,120 vertices -- 26.89m tall. Peak health.
  7. Unhealthy -- 165,908 polygons, 263,634 vertices -- 26.79m tall. Relatively poor state with foliage missing or diseased.
  8. Dying -- 80,295 polygons, 112,098 vertices -- 26.37m tall. Just hanging onto life and showing only unhealthy and diseased foliage.
  9. Dead -- 47,250 polygons, 59,425 vertices -- 25.03m tall. Showing only bare and broken branches and dead foliage.
  10. Stump -- 17,032 polygons, 21,237 vertices -- 6.97m tall. A dead plant with its trunk broken and missing.
  11. Uprooted -- 60,445 polygons, 76,647 vertices -- 7.7m tall. Dead plant fallen onto its side.
  12. Ancient -- 386,002 polygons, 599,961 vertices -- 34,37m tall. Very old plant, larger and considerably gnarled.
  13. Young -- 159,263 polygons, 280,668 vertices -- 19.31m tall. Smaller plant, some half way through its maturing cycle.
  14. Immature -- 9,660 polygons, 16,578 vertices -- 6.76m tall. Very small and young plant.
  15. Sapling -- 847 polygons, 1,464 vertices -- 1.26m tall. Recently sprouted, may not have any leaves.
  16. Lower Poly -- 97,851 polygons, 239,986 vertices -- 26.89m tall. Fewer polys to save system resources. For mid or distant renders. Standard model included, remainder models upon request (no charge).
  17. Higher Poly -- 664,284 polygons, 942,362 vertices -- 26.89m tall. More polys for greater detail. For close-up renders. Standard model included, remainder models upon request (no charge).
  18. Quads -- 316,975 polygons, 531,425 vertices -- 26.89m tall. Quad polygons throughout (as opposed to mixed, which is much more efficient). Standard model included, remainder models upon request (no charge).
  19. Triangles -- 541,467 polygons, 473,137 vertices -- 26.89m tall. Triangle polygons throughout (as opposed to mixed, which is much more efficient). Standard model included, remainder models upon request (no charge).
  20. Uniform Mesh -- 368,070 polygons, 570,203 vertices -- 26.89m tall. Uniform meshing throughout (as opposed to adaptive). For easier editing. Standard model included, remainder models upon request (no charge).

Re-meshing and any reasonable modification available upon request. No charge to existing customers of the product.

The textures included are mainly 4k (4096x4096); additional texture sizes of medium 2k, small 1k, and tiny <1k textures can also be downloaded. Separated alpha maps can be download as well.

EVERYPlant has a mission ... which is to model every plant species in the world (plus some extinct, fantasy and sci-fi variations as well)! Okay, maybe not every plant! If you don't see it in our store, please get in contact; we have thousands of species on file awaiting upload.
