Notes: Extinct plant from the late Carboniferous to the Permian Period (about 323 to 299 million years ago). Fossil specimens have been found in both drier hinterland regions as well as floodplains and swampy ground. It was more common in brackish, swamp areas, but it is notable for being able to colonise drier regions, a feature absent from many plants of this era. This seed plant had leathery, strap-shaped leaves and is thought to be closely related to conifers (at one time it was thought to be the ancestor of modern conifers, but this is no longer considered the case). Those that grew in swampy areas had a more extended stilt-root system then those that grew in drier areas. Fossils have been found mainly in Europe and Asia, but a more extensive range is evident.

6. Uprooted -- 38,454 polygons, 47,357 vertices -- 4.66m tall. Dead plant fallen onto its side.
7. Ancient -- 137,922 polygons, 199,374 vertices -- 36.93m tall. Very old plant, larger and considerably gnarled.
8. Young -- 59,919 polygons, 102,795 vertices -- 19.86m tall. Smaller plant, some half way through its maturing cycle.
9. Immature -- 9,847 polygons, 19,163 vertices -- 7.14m tall. Very small and young plant.
10. Sapling -- 2,884 polygons, 6,726 vertices -- 1.32m tall. Recently sprouted, may not have any leaves.
11. Lower Poly -- 33,998 polygons, 77,568 vertices -- 27.79m tall. Fewer polys to save system resources. For mid or distant renders. Standard model included, remainder models upon request (no charge).
12. Higher Poly -- 207,242 polygons, 286,258 vertices -- 27.79m tall. More polys for greater detail. For close-up renders. Standard model included, remainder models upon request (no charge).
