EVERYPlant Cordaites 1 --12 Models--

EVERYPlant Cordaites 1 --12 Models-- 3D model

Description

Name: Cordaites

Scientific: Cordaites ludlowi (Cordaites principalis also available from EVERYPlant)

This Variation: 1 of 4. This is a High Poly model. A Low Poly version is also available.

Notes: Extinct plant from the late Carboniferous to the Permian Period (about 323 to 299 million years ago). Fossil specimens have been found in both drier hinterland regions as well as floodplains and swampy ground. It was more common in brackish, swamp areas, but it is notable for being able to colonise drier regions, a feature absent from many plants of this era. This seed plant had leathery, strap-shaped leaves and is thought to be closely related to conifers (at one time it was thought to be the ancestor of modern conifers, but this is no longer considered the case). Those that grew in swampy areas had a more extended stilt-root system then those that grew in drier areas. Fossils have been found mainly in Europe and Asia, but a more extensive range is evident.

Included in this Package: 12 models in total

  1. Standard -- 97,076 polygons, 153,279 vertices -- 25.94m tall. Fully mature and in good health. Useable in most scenes.
  2. Thriving -- 102,073 polygons, 162,739 vertices -- 25.94m tall. Peak health.
  3. Unhealthy -- 81,131 polygons, 122,656 vertices -- 25.94m tall. Relatively poor state with foliage missing or diseased.
  4. Dying -- 56,202 polygons, 76,079 vertices -- 25.56m tall. Just hanging onto life and showing only unhealthy and diseased foliage.
  5. Dead -- 36,402 polygons, 44,320 vertices -- 25.08m tall. Showing only bare and broken branches and dead foliage.
  6. Uprooted -- 36,747 polygons, 44,670 vertices -- 7.91m tall. Dead plant fallen onto its side.
  7. Ancient -- 145,641 polygons, 210,927 vertices -- 33.36m tall. Very old plant, larger and considerably gnarled.
  8. Young -- 61,296 polygons, 104,050 vertices -- 18.63m tall. Smaller plant, some half way through its maturing cycle.
  9. Immature -- 10,923 polygons, 21,229 vertices -- 6.67m tall. Very small and young plant.
  10. Sapling -- 2,920 polygons, 6,765 vertices -- 1.29m tall. Recently sprouted, may not have any leaves.
  11. Lower Poly -- 36,175 polygons, 82,478 vertices -- 25.94m tall. Fewer polys to save system resources. For mid or distant renders. Standard model included, remainder models upon request (no charge).
  12. Higher Poly -- 213,121 polygons, 294,984 vertices -- 25.94m tall. More polys for greater detail. For close-up renders. Standard model included, remainder models upon request (no charge).

Re-meshing and any reasonable modification available upon request. No charge to existing customers of the product.

The textures included are mainly 4k (4096x4096); additional texture sizes of medium 2k, small 1k, and tiny <1k textures can also be downloaded. Separated alpha maps can be download as well.
