Description
Name: Coconut Palm
Scientific: Cocos nucifera
This Variation: 4 of 4. This is a High Poly model. A Low Poly version is also available.
Notes: Long held synonymous with tropical beach paradises, the coconut palm is an important source of food and building material for many peoples of the world. Evidence suggests it has been cultivated since prehistoric times. Its trunk, though tree like, is actually not wood, but a fibrous collection of overlapping stems. It is extremely widespread, found in virtually all tropical and sub-tropical areas the world over. The plant is highly salinity tolerant, making it a primary coastal plant in the tropics where it grows on sandy soil. The seed (coconut) can float in the ocean for up to one year before reaching landfall to colonise a new area.

-
Unhealthy -- 148,189 polygons, 226,333 vertices -- 26.7m tall. Relatively poor state with foliage missing or diseased.
-
Dying -- 113,897 polygons, 175,479 vertices -- 26.7m tall. Just hanging onto life and showing only unhealthy and diseased foliage.
-
Dead -- 57,272 polygons, 78,018 vertices -- 20.28m tall. Showing only bare and broken branches and dead foliage.

-
Sapling -- 19,676 polygons, 31,906 vertices -- 2.83m tall. Recently sprouted, may not have any leaves.
-
Lower Poly -- 51,389 polygons, 96,122 vertices -- 26.7m tall. Fewer polys to save system resources. For mid or distant renders. Standard model included, remainder models upon request (no charge).
-
Higher Poly -- 347,646 polygons, 493,112 vertices -- 26.7m tall. More polys for greater detail. For close-up renders. Standard model included, remainder models upon request (no charge).
-
Quads -- 167,445 polygons, 269,460 vertices -- 26.7m tall. Quad polygons throughout (as opposed to mixed, which is much more efficient). Standard model included, remainder models upon request (no charge).
-
Triangles -- 303,661 polygons, 253,317 vertices -- 26.7m tall. Triangle polygons throughout (as opposed to mixed, which is much more efficient). Standard model included, remainder models upon request (no charge).
-
Uniform Mesh -- 283,077 polygons, 420,887 vertices -- 26.7m tall. Uniform meshing throughout (as opposed to adaptive). For easier editing. Standard model included, remainder models upon request (no charge).
Re-meshing and any reasonable modification available upon request. No charge to existing customers of the product.
The textures included are mainly 4k (4096x4096); additional texture sizes of medium 2k, small 1k, and tiny <1k textures can also be downloaded. Separated alpha maps can be download as well.
