Description
Name: Coconut Palm
Scientific: Cocos nucifera
This Variation: 3 of 4. This is a High Poly model. A Low Poly version is also available.
Notes: Long held synonymous with tropical beach paradises, the coconut palm is an important source of food and building material for many peoples of the world. Evidence suggests it has been cultivated since prehistoric times. Its trunk, though tree like, is actually not wood, but a fibrous collection of overlapping stems. It is extremely widespread, found in virtually all tropical and sub-tropical areas the world over. The plant is highly salinity tolerant, making it a primary coastal plant in the tropics where it grows on sandy soil. The seed (coconut) can float in the ocean for up to one year before reaching landfall to colonise a new area.

-
Higher Poly -- 371,906 polygons, 527,557 vertices -- 22.88m tall. More polys for greater detail. For close-up renders. Standard model included, remainder models upon request (no charge).
-
Quads -- 185,576 polygons, 297,271 vertices -- 22.88m tall. Quad polygons throughout (as opposed to mixed, which is much more efficient). Standard model included, remainder models upon request (no charge).
-
Triangles -- 335,710 polygons, 278,986 vertices -- 22.88m tall. Triangle polygons throughout (as opposed to mixed, which is much more efficient). Standard model included, remainder models upon request (no charge).
-
Uniform Mesh -- 304,145 polygons, 453,359 vertices -- 22.88m tall. Uniform meshing throughout (as opposed to adaptive). For easier editing. Standard model included, remainder models upon request (no charge).
Re-meshing and any reasonable modification available upon request. No charge to existing customers of the product.
The textures included are mainly 4k (4096x4096); additional texture sizes of medium 2k, small 1k, and tiny <1k textures can also be downloaded. Separated alpha maps can be download as well.
