Skimmia Japonica: Japanese SkimmiaSkimmia Japonica is a dense, mounded evergreen shrub native to Japan. Growing up to heights of 4 ft tall, Skimmia Japonica is prized for its fragrant flowers, aromatic leaves, and showy red fruits. To get optimal fruit production, the best ratio of male to female plants is 1:6. The plant tolerates a wide range of conditions, including frost, drought, and atmospheric pollution. It is suitable for bonsai and for Chinese gardens.
