Notes: A species of annual flowering herb common in woodlands of Western Europe. The plants have a self-supporting growth form and have simple, broad leaves. Flowers are visited by large garden bumblebee, Brown-banded carder bee, Shrill carder bee, and many other insects. These plants prefer sandy soils in woodland and acid heaths, at an altitude up to 1,500 metres. They are native to Western Europe and Tunisia, but cultivated in many places as an ornamental plant in gardens, and naturalized in several regions (including Australia, New Zealand and North America).

  6. Dead -- 47,028 polygons, 66,520 vertices, 53.03cm tall. Showing only bare and broken branches and dead foliage.
  7. Fruiting -- 126,388 polygons, 168,005 vertices, 55.55cm tall. Plant is past its flowering stage and has lost its petals. The flowerheads have become capsules containing seeds.
  8. Blooming -- 135,206 polygons, 194,430 vertices, 55.55cm tall. Fully mature flowers emerging and beginning to unfurl.
