Pinus Densiflora: Japanese Red Pine Pinus densiflora, also called the Japanese red pine, the Japanese pine, or Korean red pine, has a home range that includes Japan, the Korean Peninsula, northeastern China, and the southeast of Russia. This pine has become a popular ornamental, growing up to 100 ft in height with long needlelike leaves. It is closely related to the scots pine, and is popular in Japan for timber production. It also plays an important part in classic Japanese Gardens. In Korea, Pinus Densiflora is thought to represent the virtues of Confucianism.
