Description

Name: Great Basin Bristlecone Pine LowPoly

Scientific: Pinus longaeva

This Variation: 4 of 4. This is a Low Poly model. A High Poly version is also available.

Notes: A long-living species of bristlecone pine tree found in the higher mountains of California, Nevada, and Utah. It includes the tree named Methuselah, which is 4,855 years old and has been credited as the oldest known living non-clonal organism on Earth. To protect it, the exact location of this tree is kept secret. The tree grows in large open stands and generally does not form closed canopies, usually covering only 15-50%. The tree is a vigorous primary succession species, growing quickly on new open ground, but is a poor competitor in good soils and the species does best in harsh terrain. It is often the dominant species in high-elevation dolomite soils, where few plants can grow.

Included in this Package: 16 models in total

  1. Standard -- 13,732 polygons, 27,506 vertices -- 17.64m tall. Green, fully mature and in good health. Useable in most scenes.
  2. Thriving -- 13,760 polygons, 27,580 vertices -- 17.64m tall. Peak health.
  3. Unhealthy -- 10,861 polygons, 20,265 vertices -- 17.58m tall. Relatively poor state with much of its foliage missing or diseased.
  4. Dying -- 8,735 polygons, 15,111 vertices -- 17.58m tall. Just hanging onto life and showing only unhealthy and diseased foliage.
  5. Dead -- 7,195 polygons, 11,530 vertices -- 16.28m tall. Showing only bare and broken branches and dead foliage.
  6. Stump -- 3,142 polygons, 3,698 vertices -- 9.94m tall. A dead tree with its trunk broken.
  7. Uprooted -- 7,471 polygons, 12,058 vertices -- 6.56m tall. Dead tree fallen onto its side.
  8. Ancient -- 19,366 polygons, 33,187 vertices -- 23.1m tall. Very old tree, larger and considerably gnarled.
  9. Young -- 6,857 polygons, 15,161 vertices -- 13.14m tall. Smaller, some half way through its maturing cycle.
  10. Immature -- 764 polygons, 1,486 vertices -- 4.83m tall. Very small and young.
  11. Sapling -- 143 polygons, 314 vertices -- 80.58cm tall. Recently sprouted.
  12. Lower Poly -- 9,802 polygons, 22,916 vertices -- 17.64m tall. Standard model with fewer polys to save system resources. Intended for mid or distant renders.
  13. Higher Poly -- 26,437 polygons, 41,367 vertices -- 17.64m tall. Standard model with more polys for greater detail. Intended for close-up renders.
  14. Quads -- 15,754 polygons, 31,572 vertices -- 17.64m tall. Quad polygons throughout (as opposed to mixed, which is much more efficient). Standard model included, remainder models upon request (no charge).
  15. Triangles -- 25,737 polygons, 27,767 vertices -- 17.64m tall. Triangle polygons throughout (as opposed to mixed, which is much more efficient). Standard model included, remainder models upon request (no charge).
  16. Uniform Mesh -- 13,043 polygons, 26,983 vertices -- 17.64m tall. Uniform meshing throughout (as opposed to adaptive). For easier editing. Standard model included, remainder models upon request (no charge).

Re-meshing and any reasonable modification available upon request. No charge to existing customers of the product.

The textures included are mainly 4k (4096x4096); additional texture sizes of medium 2k, small 1k, and tiny <1k textures can also be downloaded. Separated alpha maps can be download as well.

EVERYPlant has a mission ... which is to model every plant species in the world (plus some extinct, fantasy and sci-fi variations as well)! Okay, maybe not every plant! If you don't see it in our store, please get in contact; we have thousands of species on file awaiting upload.
