Description
Name: Basket Fern LowPoly
Scientific: Drynaria rigidula
This Variation: 3 of 4. This is a Low Poly model. A High Poly version is also available.
Notes: This plant occurs in tropical and sub-tropical South-East Asia and Oceania, including eastern Queensland, Australia. It is a very adaptable species: it grows on trees in rainforest and tall open forest, where it can form huge colonies high in the canopy, it also grow on rocks in more open areas, it grows as a much smaller plant sporadically amongst rocks in open forest, and it can also be found growing in the ground in poor sandy soils of old dune formations. The fern has two types of frond: fertile foliage fronds and sterile nest fronds. The dark green foliage fronds are large, anything up to 120cm, with elongated stalks. The nest fronds are narrowly ovate, and have smaller rounded leaves, basal to the foliage fronds. They persist after turning brown and dying and form a sort of basket around the base of the plant.
Included in this Package: 14 models in total
-
Standard -- 4,964 polygons, 9,764 vertices -- 1.25m tall. Green, fully mature and in good health. Useable in most scenes.
-
Thriving -- 4,953 polygons, 9,747 vertices -- 1.25m tall. Peak health.
-
Unhealthy -- 4,980 polygons, 9,510 vertices -- 1.2m tall. Relatively poor state with foliage missing or diseased.
-
Dying -- 4,561 polygons, 8,453 vertices -- 1.3m tall. Just hanging onto life and showing only unhealthy and diseased foliage.
-
Dead -- 3,764 polygons, 6,422 vertices -- 76.34cm tall. Showing only bare and broken branches and dead foliage.
-
Ancient -- 5,447 polygons, 10,414 vertices -- 1.56m tall. Very old plant, larger and considerably gnarled.
-
Young -- 3,230 polygons, 6,586 vertices -- 97.26cm tall. Smaller plant, some half way through its maturing cycle.
-
Immature -- 23,677 polygons, 26,259 vertices -- 75.81cm tall. Very small and young plant.
-
Fiddleheads -- 7,959 polygons, 8,156 vertices -- 16.84cm tall. Plant is past its flowering stage and has lost its petals. The flowerheads have become capsules containing seeds.
-
Lower Poly -- 3,391 polygons, 7,472 vertices -- 1.25m tall. Fewer polys to save system resources. For mid or distant renders. Standard model included, remainder models upon request (no charge).
-
Higher Poly -- 7,391 polygons, 12,985 vertices -- 1.25m tall. More polys for greater detail. For close-up renders. Standard model included, remainder models upon request (no charge).
-
Quads -- 5,155 polygons, 11,306 vertices -- 1.25m tall. Quad polygons throughout (as opposed to mixed, which is much more efficient). Standard model included, remainder models upon request (no charge).
-
Triangles -- 7,201 polygons, 9,727 vertices -- 1.25m tall. Triangle polygons throughout (as opposed to mixed, which is much more efficient). Standard model included, remainder models upon request (no charge).
-
Uniform Mesh -- 13,422 polygons, 20,757 vertices -- 1.25m tall. Uniform meshing throughout (as opposed to adaptive). For easier editing. Standard model included, remainder models upon request (no charge).
Re-meshing and any reasonable modification available upon request. No charge to existing customers of the product.
The textures included are mainly 4k (4096x4096); additional texture sizes of medium 2k, small 1k, and tiny <1k textures can also be downloaded. Separated alpha maps can be download as well.
