Gigantoraptor was a large oviraptorosaur dinosaur that lived during the Late Cretaceous period, around 85 to 70 million years ago. Measuring approximately 8 meters (26 feet) in length and weighing up to 1.4 metric tons, it was the largest known member of its group. Gigantoraptor had a toothless beak, long legs indicating it was a fast runner, and likely a feathered body. Its diet is debated, but it may have been omnivorous, feeding on plants, small animals, and eggs. Fossils of Gigantoraptor have been discovered in Asia, particularly in China, providing valuable insights into the diversity of oviraptorosaurs.
