Empire State Building

Empire State Building 3D print model

Description

The Empire State Building is a 1250ft (381m) tall skyscraper in New York City. Perhaps the most famous building in the world, the Empire State Building has dominated the New York skyline for nearly 90 years. This building was built in a famous competition with the Chrysler Building to construct the tallest building in the world. The building was designed by Shreve, Lamb and Harmon and completed in 1931. From that year it stood as the tallest building in the world for 40 years until surpassed by the World Trade Center and later Chicago's Sears Tower. The tower's spire, originally intended to be used as a mooring mast for dirigibles, now shines brightly in multicolored LED lights, high above 5th Avenue.

This model has 4 STL files, one is of the entire building in one piece. The other 3 files have the building split into a base, middle, and top section in order to print at larger scales.

NOTE: This model was reworked and re-uploaded in December of 2020 to improve accuracy and detail.

I kind of agree, but the model he shows here is of the original building, which doesn't have a spire. That's because the original purpose of the top of the building was as a mooring station for dirigibles. I'm cool with it. If you're only going to visit one skyscraper in NYC, this has to be it. This is a top-class model of this world-famous building. No King Kong, though.....
