Chase Tower, also known as the First National Bank of Chicago Building and the Bank One Plaza, is a 850ft (259m) tall skyscraper in Chicago, Illinois. Designed by C.F. Murphy Associates and Perkins and Will, the building was completed in 1969 as the 2nd tallest building in Chicago and one of the tallest in the world. The tower is famous for its striking appearance from ground-level, where the north-south faces of the building curve upwards to create a dramatic sweep into the sky. The space surrounding the building hosts a multi-level sunken plaza open to the public, complete with a mosaic mural by Marc Chagall. While Chicago has constructed many taller buildings since, Chase Tower still boasts a commanding presence on the Loop's skyline and its architectural history.
