Description
In 1916, after a stalemate had settled in on the Western Front, the Germans needed a more efficient way of protecting themselves from shrapnel due to the constant bombardment and shelling of enemy artillery as their soft caps were no use against it. Thus was born the M1916 Stahlhelm.
