Game/VR/AR-ready low-poly model of a somewhat worn Viking-age shield. The model has 4K PBR-textures and is built to real-world scale (metric system).
Round wooden shields with metal bosses were widely used in central and northern Europe during a long period from the Roman Iron Age to at least the end of the Early Middle Ages (AD 200-1100). The wooden parts of the shields were relatively fragile and the edges were often strengthened with leather or (rarely) metal. The centrally placed wooden grip allowed the user to quickly pivot the shield to block and control incoming blows.
The model and PBR-textures are prepared for use with Unity and Unreal Engine, but can easily be adapted to other game engines, or for other uses. The model was created using Blender and Substance Painter. Preview images were rendered with Iray.

Materials & Textures
The model is UV-mapped and has a single material and three sets of physics based textures, one for PBR MetalRough, one for Unity (metallic workflow) and one for Unreal Engine. The textures are not baked into the model, but are saved as png-files with a resolution of 4096 x 4096 pixels (8 bits) in the zip-file PBR textures in the subfolders PBR textures, Unity textures and Unreal Engine textures:
