A mace, similar to a club/hammer, is a blunt weapon that is swung to deliver powerful blows. Usually a mace has a metal or wooden handle and a ball or flange shaped end. The ball shaped mace usually has a spherical end with spikes to deal more damage to personnel. Flanged maces have flatter, sharper edges at the end of the shaft meant for penetrating armor.
