The Karabiner 98k rifle was adopted as the standard of Nazi Germany throughout the period of World War II. Some ended up going to other countries (mainly to countries that supported Germany during the war).

The Kar98k was such a popular weapon with Axis infantry that even after the war, it is said that over a million units of the weapon were captured and scattered around the world. In total, it is believed that over 14 million units were produced during 1935 - 1945.
