The Tiger II is a German heavy tank from World War II. The final official German designation was the Panzerkampfwagen Tiger Ausf. B, often shortened to Tiger B. The ammunition inventory designation was Sd.Kfz. 182. (Sd.Kfz. 267 and 268 for command vehicles). It was also informally known as Königstiger (German for Bengal tiger and also literally royal tiger). It was commonly referred to as King Tiger or King Tiger by contemporary Allied soldiers.
