Pilos helmets were the simplest type of Ancient Greek helmet. While these helmets certainly could have been made and used at an early date, and seem to have originated in the mid-Sixth Century BC, most examples date to the Fourth or Third Century BC. The popularity of Pilos helmets at this time was largely a reflection of the changing nature of warfare. Hellenistic soldiers had a greater need to see and hear on the battlefield than did their Archaic and Classical counterparts. Since Pilos helmets were so simple to make they were popular with armies throughout the Hellenistic world.
This Pilos helmet 3D model includes the core helmet model. The hard surface components were modeled in Maya and the asset was textured in Substance Painter. It was created to be a to be a helmet variation of the Pezhetarios model (https://www.cgtrader.com/3d-models/military/armor/macedonian-pezhetarios-greek-armor).
It contains 4k PBR textures tested in Arnold and Mantra render (the renders attached were done in Mantra):
The textures are in a unique uv/texture set:
-Helmet
The product includes the model in different formats (.fbx, .obj), textures in a .zip folder, It also includes a Houdini 19.0 scene with the shaders set for Mantra render and a Maya 2022 scene with the shaders set for Arnold.
