Modern chess board model 3D model

The objective of this model is to offer a version of a chess board in sintony with the clean lines of the modern architecture. The board and the pieces are designed using the simplest and cleanest lines possible while keeping the identity of each one of the pieces.

Due to it's clean lines the model is perfect for archviz renders, as a board game or decoration asset.

The set follows the norms of the International Chess Federation (FIDE) in what concerns the pieces sizes and the board surface size. For design reasons the board height don't follow the FIDE rules, since the objective was to create a model where each space of the board was a cube and not a simple square. This way, the board is considerably higher than FIDE recomends.

The materials are pretty simple and easy to tweak, reproducing a glossy plastic appearance from which the colors can be adjusted without the need of textures.

The materials come with 4k (PNG) surface imperfections maps that can be combined and tweaked to give the wore aspect you prefer, if you do so.

The pieces come with scratches and fingerprints surface imperfections maps and the board has smudges and scratches ones.

All the objects are correctly UV unwrapped, no overlapping and the model has only quad faces.
