This kit is an effort to design a prototype of an Electronic Voting Machine that stores the user data. There is a user interface to vote. Each user can vote only one time. This is ensured through the control unit. After the voting has been done the system demands a unique password to read the voting data that is the number of votes each candidate has got.
We have been nominated here for four parties. Electronic Voting Machine units consist of four switches with party name notification in front. The user has to press any of the switches to vote for his desired candidate. A single vote is ensured since the vote can be cast only when the electoral officers press the vote control button on the control unit which is with him.
The electronic voting machine kit has now replaced the traditional mechanism of voting due to several advantages like security, automatic counting, etc. This kit presents a way to develop an electronic voting machine that displays the count of votes on a 16×2 LCD interface. A user can get his/her vote registered through a set of switches (one for each candidate). After every cast of the vote, the subsequent count can be seen on LCD. The circuit uses 8051 microcontrollers.
