In some cases, this can create what I call ghost geometry when the 3D renderer does not have enough information (faces, points, vertices) to work with. Being a modeller myself, I have come across the same issues when using boolean and this can only be fixed through adding more faces, etc. I tested this in multiple programs and it never looks good and in the case of Hexagon, it crashes on loading. One could argue that Hex is old, but it is perfectly able to open high poly complex meshes without crashing. It opens fine in Silo and Blender but, as I said, it never looks any good (rendered and unrendered) due to the lack of geometry. Maybe it could be salvaged when taking the time to fix ngones and add geometry where needed but I am not going to attempt it. This mesh might work for some but to me, it is disappointing am afraid.
