Bumper for Ecovacs N8

Bumper for Ecovacs N8 3D model

Description

A common problem with robot vacuum cleaners is the handling of furniture that has a frame that runs on the floor, such as cantilever chairs or laundry racks.

The robots often try to overcome these obstacles, climb up, get caught and get stuck.

To solve this problem, I took the great idea from the design https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4123609 and modify his bumper deflector for our suction robot Ecovacs Deebot N8.

Simply print 4 of the parts and clip them onto the bumper of the Deebot, first hook the bottom and then pull the upper clamp over the edge until the part snaps in.

In order not to cover the distance sensors of the Deebot, you should use a digital camera or smartphone camera to check the position of the IR light diodes, which are installed behind the transparent cover of the bumper. The ideal position of the deflectors can be seen on the pictures.
