One of Malay traditional fishing methods that were used back in the days. The bubu is made of bamboo, with rattan rings as frames. Bubu also can be called as 'traps' or 'guiding barrier'. It can be carried with hand or to shoulder depending on the size. It is designed to work without attendance.
This type of fishing normally known and used by the local fishermans who lived near the sea, or river which usually placed on shallow water. It also works in the pond.
The way Bubu works is by placing the bait inside the body of bubu and letting the fish to take the bait on a one-way path only through the funnel. While the other side is the door of the bubu for collecting the trapped fishes.
