This has been a project that I have been meaning to do for a while. In this modern day, you find these wheelie bins everywhere.
With this project I wanted to do something a little different to the standard wheelie bins I have seen, so I have done three versions with the lid in different positions. with the lid open you can add extra detail and put rubbish in the bins.
I have designed these for my model railway but can be used for other modelling hobbies.
These wheelie bins have been designed at OO gauge, 1/76.2 scale. For HO Gauge print at 87%, 1/87 Scale,For O Gauge UK print at 175%, 1/43.5 scale,For O Gauge International print at 158%, 1/48 scale,For N Gauge UK print at 51.5%, 1/148 Scale, (Caution: I have not test printed this in N gauge scale).
Examples in the photos were printed on an AnyCubic Photon M3 Resin Printer
I recommend printing these items on a 3D resin printer to get the best resolution print, for larger scales you might be able to print them on a filament printer (Not tested). As per normal with my designs, there is a balance between accuracy and printability, hopefully not affecting the design of the model too much.Files starting with _ have supports added.
The main resins I use for printing can be found with my affiliated links below.I use AnyCubic Water Washable Resin for most of my items but use AnyCubic ABS Like Resin for anything that needs to be stronger and tougher.
