2001 A Space Odyssey Space Station 5 - STL Kit 3D print model

Inspired from the iconic Sy Fy movie - 2001: A Space Odyssey, comes the first complete STL file kit to make your own scale model. The model is drawn at 100% to be 1000mm in diameter, so at 50% it is approximately 18 inches in diameter. This was painstakingly checked ad drawn using references from the books The 2001 Files, and the Science of 2001 A Space Odyssey as well as the original concept blueprint. There are numerous conflicting design drawings and where to existed I picked the best clearest reference or made the best guess assumption.
Comments on printing & assembly:

1. Assemble one half of the wheel first and the Main Hub/Axle as separated assemblies. THEN fit the spokes to join these assemblies together.
2. Use rods through the spokes and main hub for maximum strength.
3. Use tough UV resin (flexible not brittle cheap type)
4. Minimize printing the elephant's foot effect when laying pieces flat, it'll save filing and assembly fit up issues.
5. Wheel is designed to have wire run through the entire Wheel segments to hold them together for strength. and the unfinished wheel in the rear. Use copper wire gauge to match the scale % you choose to make.
6. Refer to photo screen shots on assembly. Print only the parts you need at the tie of assembly to prevent making printing support structure errors (minimize clean up) with a first few parts printed, then print the rest.
7. Lighting can be run throughout and should have enough wireway space. If so desired, block out windows you do not need/want.
8. Add additional panel greeblies to the wheel as you see fit with sheet / stick pvc. I made it purposefully clean for your influence.
