Anderson Plug Mount for Trailer Charge Towing

Anderson Plug Mount for Trailer Charge Towing 3D print model

Description

I created this to attach to our tow vehicle (using 3 screws) near the 7-Pin towing plug. A weather proof heavy gauge Anderson Plug fits snugly into this part. This is much cleaner and more secure than having the Anderson Plug dangling from its wires or using a zip-tie.

Obviously, a flat spot at the rear of the tow vehicle is required for this. Our vehicle has a nice spot near the 7-pin tow connector.

This model is specifically designed for the Anderson Connector (pair) with the Weatherproof Boot. The connector is completly covered/protected by the boot. This style has rubber dust covers connected to the male and female halves. The covers protect the connectors from dirt and water while the parts are disconnected. (see photo)

*Tip: While the parts are connected the male and female dust cover can be joined together to keep the interior covers clean.

If you have found this I suspect you know how it works. Heavy gauge wires are connected to the tow vehicle charging system. The wires terminate at the rear of the vehicle using a Anderson connector. The connector connects to a mating Anderson plug which is wired to a BC/DC battery charger. The charger regulates safe electrical charge to the trailer battery(s). A common 7-Pin trailer connector does very little charging compared to a BC/DC with heavy gauge wiring via the Anderson connector.

ASA or ABS are good materials for this application.
