Libertas Autobot Shield

Libertas Autobot Shield 3D print model

Description

Introducing the Libertas Autobot Shield, a legendary shield which embodies the heroic Autobots' ethos of bringing freedom to all sentinel beings. This is sized for most deluxe figures but should work nicely for larger bots too.

Like the bots who will wield the Libertas, the shield also transforms from shield, to a multi-mode weapons loadout backpack, to turret mode!

Of course, there are multiple ways things can be transformed so it's a ball of fun to mess around with variant modes too, like this waist level weapon holder.

===

The back of the shield features a single peg hole which allows it to be attached to Transformers' forearms using a short 5mm rod, or can also be carried in figures' hands using the provided handle (shown below). Multiple 5mm ports around the shield are designed to allow for accessories to peg on.

Of course, different figures will have different geometries, so have fun messing around with this piece. Figures with a central back 5mm port are the best to use this one!

===

Putting this together requires a couple of 4mm and 5mm rods and needs to be assembled as shown in the attached illustration. Just a note that for portions in blue. two lengths of rods will need to be pre-inserted, positioned and then pulled outwards into the peg holes on the side (pre-loaded with superglue or a similar adhesive)

It was a blast putting this one together - hope you all have fun 3d printing a lot of these for yourselves too! =)
