There are now two games I've created which have chess-style pieces (with "slot-style" circular bases) on a 91 space hex-grid board. Because the original board I designed is 3D printed in Shapeways full-colour sandstone ($110), it's always been quite expensive to have to buy the board as well as the pieces. So with this new model (Hex tile - renders), I'm experimenting with creating a 5 space "tile" which tessellates with itself to create the board. 18 prints of this model required for a 91 space hex-grid - or keep growing it to infinite proportions!
