This project is an extra part of the project Adaptable Flash Grid: https://www.cgtrader.com/3d-print-models/hobby-diy/electronics/adaptable-flash-grid-for-cameras
Brands: It is suited for a Metz 44 AF-1 for Pentax, Nikon, Canon, Olympus/Panasonic.Though, the basic project contains an original Solidworks file of the attachment part, so you can custom it according to your equipment.
The full project is based on two assemblies.1.Adaptable Flash Grid AFG (the basic assemblies), is a basic grid achieved with tree pieces.2.Modular Flash Snoot MFS (this optional download), is an extra snoot, a sort of cone, which replaces the part AFG Hex grid Diam3, when it is required a spotlight effect.
Details:-Weight=118g-Dimensions= 100x100x182mm (full snoot), 100x100x64mm (AFG folded), 100x100x50mm (MFS folded)
Users:-Amateurs-Makers-Smart-workers-People in quarantine-Short distance travellers
Types of photography:-Portrait-Ecommerce-Macrophotograhy
Components and materials:-Black PLA; best if Black ABS -1 large Rubber bands/2 small rubber bands. Best if natural rubber/blanket: doesn't dry-Soft material stripes for smooth grip: polystyrene, foam, rubber...-Double sided tape-(Optional) tinfoil or silver paper to insert inside the models AFG1, MFS13, MFS23 to increase the flash light
For folding:AFGTo get the assembly just 64mm high, all you have to do is to reverse the model base 5°, and place it inside the AFG1 part, from the largest opening (WITHOUT using the aunular snapfit; just placing it there is enough). The grid has to be removed, reversed and inserted with the two horns matching with the internal surface of AFG1.That won't make parts neither unmovable nor indestructible, but it is quite useful to save space in your bag.MFSThe aunular snapfit between MFS13 and MFS23 requires a kind sandpaper work, while for the grid joint better using just fine sandpaper. To close the cone, you have just to follow the direction of the four side lines.
WARNING:The base element, AFG 5° base, is designed to be as fexible as possible; plus, the original file allows to custom the project on your own flash. Neverthless, is better to follow some precautions:1.Use either gross and fine sand paper to smooth the aunular snapfit between AFG 5° base and AFG1, to avoid cracks.2.Avoid too much thick stripes; 5mm is enough.
