I know how difficult can be sometimes to find the right way. This little compass will help you...
Playing with small neodimium magnets I realized that they are able to overcome the friction of the smooth surface and show you one of their base charecteristic - the north.
Material used:
PETG material - 2 colors 2 neodimium magnets ø2x2mm - the same as I used for Apple pencil case here: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4976851 Plexiglass - I shaped plexiglass sheet (1mm thickness) with acu driller and sandpaper to required diameter (26mm).
To provide minimum friction, I used ironing on all top surfaces. I used also wax (not necessary) in place of magnets.

I hope youll like it and Ill see here many color combinations :) I was thinking about fluorescent middle layer - to be able to see it in the evening/night. If somebody has experience with transparent filament, would be interesting to see, if 1mm thick layer is transparent enough - as plexiglass substitution...
