Following their home collection debut, Edward Barber and Jay Osgerby created Tobi-Ishi Outdoor, a street version of the iconic round dining table and small table clearly inspired by Zen. The design duo are big enthusiasts of Japanese art and culture, and the name and inspiration comes from the smooth stones (tobi-ishi) used as ornaments in traditional Zen gardens. The table overhang and vertical trapezoidal bases, set at right angles, create a substantial sculptural figure that appears to change shape depending on the vantage point.
