Initially, the sofa was a traditional element of furniture in the East (Ottoman Empire). She was characterized by a low landing, a small back and many pillows. The sofa was covered with leather, thin carpets and silks[4]. In the 17th century, the sofa became famous in Europe and was usually placed in aristocratic living rooms and was intended for daytime sitting. The frame of the sofa was made of precious woods (cedar, larch), the upholstery was made of silk or leather, and removable (furniture) cushions were stuffed with sheep's wool or horsehair for greater rigidity.
