This wall sculpture balances the strength and delicacy of its materiality through the lush draping of seemingly fragile ceramic links. Each link is individually assembled into a vast weaving of ceramic rings that allows the piece to drape, fold, and move gracefully over a space. The rich stoneware has moments of stretching space and bunched shadows that are ripe for exploration. As the artist weaves this pattern, she uses the repetitive action to find a space of meditation and deep contemplation of the space she and the work are both negotiating. The artist and work of art move in a dance of making that continues through installation. A large draw of Kibby's practice is the focus on tactile and Kinetic works of art. As they chain link sculptures move the links make music through their interaction with each other. They seduce the viewer into tactile interaction.
