Description

I created this bookcase asset using reference images compiled in PureRef. I began with a base mesh, then created a high-poly which I baked down on to a cleanly UV'd low-poly, with UV space planned to allow for the books. I created a set of five books and added them to the bookcase model, UV'd them into available spaces, then manipulated textures to fit them before combining materials into a single PBR set.

As the books are indvidual elements they can be re-arranged/added/removed as desired for a variety of looks. The UV layout also has room for additional covers to be added if required.

Time spent creating and texturing this asset was approx seven hours (not including lighting and rendering).

This asset was created and rendered entirely in 3ds Max 2019.

Bookcase: 655 polys / 1292 tris Books: 34 polys / 68 tris each

Albedo, Normal, Roughness maps are 2k.

.FBX, .OBJ, .MAX, .STL file formats are included.
