Stefan HeiligerDesign / Germany
All Design Connected 3d models are originally created in 3ds Max 2011 and V-Ray renderer. We use in-house developed automation tools to convert our models to support other renderers like Mental Ray, Built-in Scanline, Corona and Maxwell, with MXM and MXS files included.
Files units are centimeters and all models are accurately scaled to represent real-life object's dimensions.
The model comes as a single editable mesh or poly object (or as group for rigged models or where displace modifier has been used) properly named and positioned in the center of coordinate system. No lights, cameras and render/scene setup are included unless otherwise stated in the particular model’s description.
A sculptor’s signatureStefan Heiliger ranks among Germany‘s best-known furniture designers: as the son of Bernhard Heiliger, one of the most important German sculptors of the post-war period, he always knows how to give his furniture designs a culptural appearance. For more than 30 years, he has been thinking about sitting – and for Heiliger, the focus is not just on functionality and ergonomics but on healthy pragmatism, too. This furniture is destined not mainly for museums or galleries, but for serial production and the person who will make him- or herself at home on it. The flowing, curved forms transform his seating furniture into sculptures that are certain to offer pleasure and relaxation for those who sit on them. His creation, DS-266, is not a place to sit or lie – it’s a hybrid that permits both in one: slight shifts in bodyweight or gentle pressure to the backrest always give it the shape and benefits desired. Anyone who takes a closer look at DS-266 will also see a clenched fist in the sitting position that can become transformed into an open hand when used as a recliner.
Geometric form and the simplest functionA seat suddenly turns into a comfortable recliner – DS-266 condenses more than 30 years of work by designer Stefan Heiliger into a highly individual sculpture characterized by a love of geometric forms and the simplest of functions. All it takes is a slight shift in bodyweight, and anyone who was just sitting upright can immediately assume a different position – the parallelogram uncompromisingly heeds your command. A masterfully crafted patchwork look gives this sculptural hybrid its graceful rounding.
