Porcelain has always played a major role in how we create our homes.With its new Moira lighting series by Sebastian Herkner, Furstenberg demonstrates the changeability of the uniquematerial and the potential of porcelain to capture the mood of the time in ever new forms, beyond the sphere of dining.Moira combines modern interior design with traditional craftsmanship.“Porcelain is like a filter. It creates a special atmosphere withthe light” is how Sebastian Herkner describes the specialfascination of porcelain. The inspiration for the Moiralighting series came to the much-in-demand German productdesigner during a visit to Porzellanmanufaktur Furstenbergwhere he observed how light behaves on fine, unglazed porcelain.It is almost translucent and the light which shines throughit is particularly warm and soft. The Moira lighting series consists of a pendant lamp in three different lengths,a table lamp with two light sources and a floor lamp with sixlight sources. The central design element of all the lamps is the light cup produced by Porzellanmanufaktur Furstenberg.
