Candle fire has shapekeys and gradient animation. To change shape of the fire you can change a shapkeys value. Move emty RISE along Z-axes to change height of the flame (image preview5). Glow is also available in cycles. To change its intensity, simply change the color of the volume to a lighter one (from 0.0001 to 0.005) (image preview6)
