Silla 40
DESCRIPTION
A tribute to the 20th Century. To commemorate anniversary, the designstudio Nadadora proposed the concept of designingfour chairs, one for each of decades.Instead of four totally different chairs, Nadadora decidedthat the project would make even more senseif each chair shared the same structure. This way thedifference lies in the backs; each one inspired by akey moment in the history of furniture design. Now,we add two new versions: metal feet with and withoutarms. The ’20s back symbolises concepts drawn from thework of Marcel Breuer and his Cesca chair. The ’30sback is a nod to Scandinavian design, in particular, the69 chair by Alvar Aalto. The ’40s variant representsthe organic design of the ’40s, ’50s and ’60s and celebratesthe LCW chairs designed by Charles Eames.Postmodern influences are impregnated in the ’70s,inspired by designs like those of Synthesis 45 byEttore Sottssas for Olivetti.

TheIbiza white colour has been paired with a new highgloss shade of grey that we have called Ice.Simple and masterful at the same time, the combinationis a nod to chess, the game that the inspiredIonna Vautrin to design the Pion. The base represents a pawn, while the black andwhite table top is reminiscent of a chequered chessboard.
