This is a 3D reconstruction of a four poster bed (otherwise known as a tester) typical of a somewhat affluent medieval home. It is comprised of a simple oak wood frame with plain linen bedding and curtains. The matress is suspended on ropes, which are attached to the frame. The curtains, which were used to keep out drafts, are attached to rails at the top of the frame. A smaller truckle bed is stored underneath the main bed and can be wheeled out. Separate model files of the two beds are included.
