Que lindo objeto!!!!
Traditional Sugar and Chocolate Skulls, very popular and widely used during the Day of the Dead celebration in Mexico. No Altar is complete without one of these.
Originally, actual human skulls were used in altars as trophies and offerings to the Prehispanic Gods, to announce the end of the cycle of life. Upon the arrival of Spanish invaders, these rituals were considered extreme and were prohibited. In order to keep the tradition going, our ancestors replaced the human skulls with sugar skulls. Today we use them to remember our loved ones, writing their names on them... and we also eat them =)
Thank you!.
