The Pantanillo river is a vital source of water for Medellin city and its surrounding areas, as it is a mix of waters from Piedras and Buey rivers and feeds into the La Fé dam. A mission was conducted using a high-resolution RGB sensor mounted on a multirotor UAV system to survey the area.
The survey covered an area of approximately 0.17 square kilometers, with the UAV flying at an altitude of 60 meters AGL (above ground level) and 2370 meters AMSL (above mean sea level). The flight lasted 16 minutes, during which the sensor captured detailed images of the Pantanillo and its surroundings. These images provide valuable data that can be used to improve our understanding of the area and its water resources, ensuring the continued supply of clean, safe drinking water to the people of Medellin city.
