Dolomites Landscape

Dolomites Landscape 3D model

Description

PLEASE READ DESCRIPTION AND CHECK ALL THUMBNAILS BEFORE BUY. The scene includes a medium resolution model of Piz Boe, the highest mountain of the Sella group, Dolomites. Derived from composite imagery this model was developed in metric system at full scale with controlled precision to ensure proportion integrity. Approximated area 7247ha/17909ac, elevation range between 1536 - 3154 meters. The entire scene is composed by three different meshes: the main mesh as described, a second low-resolution mesh with matching surrounding landscape (relief and base texture) and a huge plane to extend horizon sights. The main mesh shows an irregular triangulation pattern that was decimated and smoothed to increase rendering performance without loosing detail level. Treed areas were mostly replicate as an additional mesh and this is the emitter source of all tridimensional trees used to compose the scene. Tree density, dimensions and type can easily be tweaked as they are set as a particle system. Package includes .blend scene as shown in thumbnails (meshes+ 3D trees collection) and base model with shifted origin(.obj+.mtl+.png base texture). Contact me if you need georeferenced mesh (I can include that option). The color coded elevation model is also included and can be set by changing main texture (use DEM Dolomites). Feel free to contact me if you have any questions about this model or if you need a similar model for another location or with customized features.
