Mountain landscape Machu Picchu is the city of the Inca civilization, located in the Andes in Peru, above the valley of the Urubamba River. The city was founded in the 15th century and later abandoned. Machu Picchu is known for the fact that all the walls are built without the use of adhesive material. There are also unusual astronomical structures here. There are panoramic views from the top. Scientists still have not exactly established the purpose of this city.
