Description
This structure is typical of the buildings found in the fields of many 18th to 19th century St. Croix Sugar Plantations. It housed nightwatchmen guarding against canefield fires. A Watch House also served as a day care shelter for fieldworkers children and as a tool shed. The restoration of this Watch House was a joint project of Texaco Caribbean and St. Croix Landmark Society in 1989.
