The bazam itself is of eminent cultural-religious importance: it quasi belongsto the ritual instruments of the Dzong when His Holiness the Je Khenpo with500 monks enters his winter residence in the Dzong or when the colourfulprocessions of monks and believers visit the Dzong at many a religiousfestival. After the 1958 catastrophe this was not possible any more untiltoday.
