DESCRIPTION

Freely inspired by XVI century representations of the typical Japanese fortified villages and fortified towns like those famous ones near Lake Biwa and Mt. Azuchi and by the most renowned Iyo Matsuyama Castle Walls, the Japanese Village Walls Kit has five hi-definition, hi-detailed main pieces/objects that allow you to build your own Japanese walls around your Japanese village or town:

1. Wall A - with Safe Holes sama;
2. Wall B - with Safe Holes and Rock Chutes ishi-otoshi;
3. Sumi-Yagura or 'Corner Defensive Platform/Tower' with Safe Holes sama;
4. Tamon-Yagura or 'Long Defensive Platform/Tower' with Safe Holes sama;
5. A Staircase.

The Kit has also four optional photographic textures for the Stone-Walls:
1. Diffuse
2. Colour
3. Desaturated
4. Bump.

Sama or Safe-Holes were used to shoot arrows, to rifle or to lance enemies trying to breach the walls or simply as safe 'windows' to watch the outside.

Ishi-otoshi or 'Rock chutes' were used to pour rocks, boiling oil or boiling water down on enemies trying to scale the walls.

Just Combine and Duplicate the Walls and the Towers and you will create a magnificent astonishing fortified town!

During the XVI century feudal age, villages and towns were allowed to build the walls when the feudal Lord [i.e. daimyo] himself was going to have a building on the site [generally his own castle or his palace] or when the feudal Lord decided that the right of building the wall had to be granted to certain communities, e.g. samurais or merchants.

The Japanese walls were often surrounded by moats and were often hidden by a dense forest, in order to make the access to the village/town even more difficult.

The 'Japanese Village Walls Kit' has been also designed to be suitable for Little Japanese Castles, which followed the same Architectural model-type of the Japanese fortified villages and towns.
