Designed for the Bowman Design Forum Competition, this retreat center is located on a prairie located near Alma, KS. With the intention of taking advantage of a number of natural phenomena in the area, this building serves as a way to experiencing the phenomena to invoke reflective meditation while also providing an escape from the rapidly industrializing world around us. More information on the design can be found on the presentation boards included in the images section. This project received 2nd place in the competition (for 3rd year architecture students).
This model was made in Rhino and was done primarily for the creation of architectural drawings and other graphics. Thus, the interior is not fully developed and there is minimal detail in the 3d model itself. This provides a framework for others to expand upon the model if they wish. Other file formats are just conversions of the rhino file.
Renders done with Neon Ray Trace in Rhino with very few default rhino textures. Most of the model has no textures applied. Basic lighting
